March 11, 2022

A young girl from Goole has made the finals of a competition which aims to celebrate teenage girls and their achievements.

Shelby’J Robinson,14, recently found out that she has been chosen to take part in the finals of the Miss Teen Great Britain competition, a win that could award her the title of ‘Miss Junior Teen Yorkshire 2022’. The competition, which is open to 10- 19 year olds across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, was created to be a positive and confidence-building experience for young girls and teenagers. Since 2012, Miss Teen Great Britain and the other events that Pageant Girl organise, have raised over £500,000 for charities.

As part of her time in the competition, Shelby is fundraising in Goole. Last week, she held a tombola at the Salt and Pepper pot market, raising £160.50 for Together for Short Lives. This has been added to her Just Giving page which has already topped £300, and she has more fundraising events planned until October this year. Shelby said: “I still can’t believe I made it through to the finals, as this is the first year I have entered. “I am honoured and feel privileged to represent our area and I want to use this opportunity to support and promote as many charities and small businesses as I can. “I am determined to work hard and I hope to bring the crown home to Goole as Miss Junior Teen Great Britain 2022.” If you would like to donate to Together for Short Lives, visit Shelby’s Just Giving page: https://www.justgiving.com /fundraising/shelbyjrobinson?utm_source=sms&utm_medium=fundraising&utm_content=shelbyjrobinson&utm_campaign=pfp-sms&utm_term= 99373f3190f940d6a785 bddbe463d9e5&fbclid=IwAR3wgGs82VVrCwjhHkQ95j5WHpWetlvb40-YUS8KfauxbwZBt76hkY7Gfb0.
